For me those songs never really told a story, I had to come full circle , back to my roots to find the honest story telling of the great American outlaw country songs.” - Joe Michaels

About Joe

Nashville recording artist and songwriter Joe Michaels is best known for his raw pull no punches lyrics and his not afraid to get off the stage and party with the crowd attitude. Raised on the outlaws of country music, Michaels draws his inspiration from the classics of the 70s, 80s, and 90s as well as modern outlaws such as Jamie Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Tyler Childers. These influences create a unique brand that blends old and new into a dark whiskey haze of stories and sound.

Michaels did not start playing music until much later in life. Michaels graduated from Life University In Atlanta Georgia with a Doctorate Degree and spent his 30s and 40s in a private chiropractic practice, which he later sold to move to Nashville to pursue his love of music.

Since arriving in Nashville Michaels has appeared at CMA Fest, The Music City Grand Prix, and has headlined charity events for the non-profit veteran's charity Forgotten Coast K9. Michaels has also appeared on such iconic stages as Story Tellers Farm (Johnny and June Cash's Farm), The Commodore Grill, Rippy's and The Tin Roof on Broadway, and The Local just to name a few. Michaels has performed at multiple festivals and has been a guest on several music podcasts including Music Crush Monday and B4Nashville.
